Under Construction
I have took a short break from this blog…but never fear, I’ll be back shortly. So if it seems a little under construction that is because it is.
Flickr For Your Face
I really need to get out the camera and take some photos. I’m feeling inspired.
- Baby Goodness (I’m a sucker for babies.)
- Ocean Dreams (This makes me miss the ocean. Bad.)
- Dark (Those eyes.)
- Less is More (So blue.)
- At Peace (Simple but good.)
Vote for Chris Sligh on American Idol
I know this guy. He is actually a really good friend of my fiance and her family. He can sing like whoa, plus he’s just a cool dude. Vote for him! Everyone else is lame.
Another Case Of The “I Wanna’s”
I would really love to have these right here (can we get a cut in the price please?). I adore shoes. It’s the metro in me.
Crayola Needs Me
This post at JoshuaBlankenshipDotCom inspired me. “Five hypothetical colors I would pitch to Crayola, if given the chance” are…
- Carolina Moon
- Caught Red Handed
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream
- The Artist Formally Known As Purple
- Putrid Defiler
250 Salvations This Sunday
Well, Perry announced on his blog that yesterday we had 250 salvations at NewSpring. Amazing. I feel so blessed that God has placed me and plugged me in to a church that is allowing God to do such amazing things. Even if all I do on Sunday is make sure people find a seat and take up offering (it’s what God has called me to do at NewSpring right now so there are no complaints). One of the highlights of yesterday was when people who were accepting Christ as their Savior were standing up and Perry said “if you are nervous or scared about standing up ask the person beside you to stand up with you”. When he said this a teenage boy in front of me turned to his dad and asked his dad to stand up with him. The dad’s face was priceless. Good gracious, I can’t take that kind of stuff. I had to think of something else so I wouldn’t lose it.
As I was thinking about yesterday and all that God is doing through our church I begin to consider, what if we allowed God to use each one of us at the same proportion we were allowing God to use us as a body. Sure Christ followers can accomplish so much more when we work together as one, hence the entire purpose for a church. But what if we allowed God to use us at work, on the way to work, and in our everyday interactions with people. To be love, light, salt, and simply a big finger pointing to the truth. It’s great to be part of a church so focused on letting God accomplish things through us as a body, but what am I allowing God to accomplish through me; in my world, and in my life? Am I a NewSpring Church on a smaller scale? It’s just a question to start the week.
Early-Riser
I sleep until the very last available second in the mornings. Forcing myself to get ready super fast and not to have time for anything but showring, throwing clothes on, and rushing to work. This is a habit I would love to change. As it often results in me getting to work exactly on time without a minute to spare, a sloppy look, and feeling stressed and behind as soon as the day begins. I would love to become a early riser. This article may help. Although I do not want to get up at 5:00 AM, I do want to get up earlier than I am allowing myself to get ready in less of a rush, a little planning for my day, and some adequate time in the Word. The article gives these suggestions:
- Relocate your alarm clock.
- Scrap the snooze.
- Change up your buzzer.
- Make a puzzle. (I’d hate myself if in the morning if I did this.)
- Get into a routine. (Routines are very underrated as far as productivity goes.)
- Have a reason.
I plan on trying to put some of these ideas to practice. I think the biggest help with me would be getting to bed at a routine time that gives me a decent amount of sleep. I tend to stay up late doing nothing but fiddling and piddling. I’m lame like that.
